Announcing 'Greyland,' the debut album from Brooklyn's Tiny Hazard, Out 2/24
We're here to present you with 'Sesame,' the first single from Brooklyn experimental-pop group Tiny Hazard's debut, Greyland (out 2/24 on Ba Da Bing). This is a band whose live performances have kept us rapt and whose first album makes a strong, confident statement. So yeah, we're psyched.
If you're in New York, come see their release show at Rough Trade on 3/4.
Most importantly, listen to 'Sesame' now:
Hear the second single from Julie Byrne's 'Not Even Happiness'
"Byrne is one of the finest contemporary examples of an artist who can do so much for the soul by lending you some of hers."
Stereogum sat down with Julie Byrne to discuss the impetus behind her forthcoming LP Not Even Happiness, as well as premiere the single "Follow My Voice."

New Katie Von Schleicher Video Premiere
On April 7, the new video for Katie Von Schleicher's song "Baby Don't Go" off her debut Bleaksploitation premiered on Stereogum. They describe the song as "a slow-chugging, tender plea with jagged edges." The video is campy, spooky, and just awesome overall.
Check out the Stereogum premiere here. Or if you prefer, click here to go straight to the video.
Pre-order the reissue of Bleaksploitation here.

The Renderers Score Their First Feature Film, notes to eternity
Our very own Renderers scored their first feature film, notes to eternity, a documentary on the Israel-Palestine conflict. Their stark music fits the soundscape of the lives and ideas of four renowned critics of Israel: Noam Chomsky, Sara Roy, Norman Finkelstein and Robert Fisk, sharpening perspective on the nature of the issue that transcends historical and cultural lines. The film was screened in last year's New Zealand International Film Festival. Critics described notes to eternity as "an impressive and affecting film, an inspired and inspiring example of world class craft." Director Sarah Cordery and her team have started an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funds for post-production. You can watch the trailer for the film and support their campaign here.
Cross Record's New Single Sounds Good. Pundits Agree.
"Steady Waves" off the upcoming Cross Record finds Emily and Dan in good company on The Guardian's indie playlist with Savages, Field Music and Pumarosa. Harriet Gibsone called their single poised and intimate, traveling "through all manner of moods in its five minutes, from the delicate introspection mirrored by her acoustic guitar, to the heavy layers of guitar-grind that give an ominous undertone to an otherwise still and sensitive song". Clash referred to the track as "gloriously intense" in their premiere, while Stereogum said "it's the kind of song that makes you want to hear a lot more from a band".
Greg Dulli Covers Sharon's "A Crime"
Afghan Wings' Greg Dulli announced his tour and upcoming album earlier this morning with a cover of Sharon's "A Crime" off her album Epic, released in 2010 on Ba Da Bing! Records. The Renderers Fall US Tour
Taking a moment away from her incredible painting career, Maryrose Crook and her husband Brian are setting out on a rare tour of the US. We're lucky they have decamped from their home in Christchurch, New Zealand, and, at least for the moment, have been living in the deserts of California. This means more chances to see them play, not to mention some exciting new record news we will be announcing soon!
